Today:
  • 13:00-15:00 Toddler Group at Birdwell Methodist Church
As the name suggests, toddlers supervised by their carers (mums, dads, grandmas, granddads etc.) can meet and play with other children. The age range is baby to primary school and there is a large variety of toys in a safe, clean environment. There is a donation of £2.00 towards costs, and refreshments are included in that amount. There is also a tuck shop for the children. If you wish to join, just come along on Friday and talk to the organisers.
  • 17:30-19:00 Brownies (Birdwell)
A Brownie is part of the Guide Association, which is the largest voluntary association for girls and young women in this country. There are similar associations throughout the world and the Guide Association is a founding member of the world organisation that unites them. Brownies make a simple promise that they share with members around the world: "I promise that I will do my best: To love my God, to serve the Queen and my country, to help other people and to keep the Brownie Guide Law." Brownies have fun! Their meetings are full of games, crafts and other activities. They take part in a programme of indoor and outdoor activities that challenge them always to do their best. Any girl aged 7 or over can be a Brownie; they usually move on to Guides when they are 10 years old. Subs are £1 per week to cover running costs. Leaders are Pat Vaughan and Catherine Jones.
